Greg Kelly, News Anchor and Son of NYC Police Commissioner, Is Accused of Rape

Greg Kelly, an anchor on Fox’s “Good Day New York” and the son of New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, is currently being investigated by the Manhattan district attorney’s office after a woman walked into a police station Tuesday night and complained that Kelly raped her.

The alleged incident occurred last October. The woman says she and Kelly met on the street and then had drinks before going up to her office at a law firm in Lower Manhattan. It was there that she says he raped her, and, according to the New York Times, the two continued to have phone and text contact afterwards.

The woman’s boyfriend apparently found out about the rape that night and became so angry that he confronted Ray Kelly at a public event. The commissioner, who in fairness probably thought he was just some random angry guy, told him to write a letter. Because of the obvious conflict Kelly has with the police department, Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. is handling the investigation. Greg Kelly has denied any wrongdoing.
