Deejay “Fugi Slim” came of age in New York City during an era where hip hop and reggae buzzed through the city streets. He began his role as a DJ in the late 80s/90s spinning at local NY basement parties, dedicated to find his niche.
Fugi Slim began networking and gaining popularity after landing a three year residency with StonyBrookUniversity’s CSA Organization. He used this as a stepping stone to open doors to lucrative opportunities.
Fugi’s credentials include Program Director for 1190AM, Music Editor for the BCAT Networks Ruff Kut Video Show, and Radio DJ for different stations including 95.9 “Wah Gwaan Radio” and 93.5 WRTN. In 2008, Fugi Slim founded his own promotion team named Team Rokstar Ent & Certified Rokstar ENT. Not only is he talented behind the turntables, Fugi also shows dexterity using the Beamz interactive laser controller software.
The past four years Fugi has held down two of the biggest events in New York City: New Years Eve Ball and Pink & Black Birthday Affair. Currently, he has a fixed position as DJ on Sirius XM’s Shade 45 radio channel, as well.
With sincere passion and dedication, he has kicked off this year by spinning at some of New York City’s best nightclubs, as well as, becoming a Fashion Consultant for Dork Klub Clothing. Fugi is committed to becoming the best; and this is only the beginning.
